How do the stairs work?

Measure the sofa seat. After the parcel arrives, leave the foam on a flat floor to expand. Place the stairs tight against the seat. Then follow First Steps: treats on the first tread, no lifting onto the top, up and down.

What should I expect in the first days?

Some dogs walk them the same evening. Others need a few calm sessions. First Steps is in the box so you know what to try if they only watch at first. We do not promise that every dog will use them.

What if they are not the right fit?

Measure first. This set is for sofas around 40 cm. If the height is wrong after delivery, contact us and we will help under our UK returns policy. We do not take stairs back because a dog is still learning them.

When will they arrive, and why do they look squashed?

UK delivery is typically 7–12 days. This is not next-day. After the parcel arrives, the foam is vacuum-packed and looks squashed. Leave it on a flat floor to expand before the first try.

Will my dog actually use them?

That is the real worry. A wobbly first try can put a small dog off. Place them flush, wait for the foam, and practise both ways without forcing. Some need time. We will not claim that every dog adopts the stairs.

Can I use them on a bed?

Only if that bed is around 40 cm, which most UK beds are not. Measure the furniture you actually want them to reach.

Do we need the socks? And who are they for?

No. Indoor grip socks, size S, add traction on wood or tile. They come in the Sofa Time Kit, or £9.99 on their own. The stairs are for little and medium dogs around 20 kg or less — not Labrador, not Shepherd.

How to use the steps

Owning the steps is not the same as using them.

Measure

Floor to seat top. Clear floor space. Weight. If the sofa is much above 40 cm, this is the wrong set.

Place

After they arrive, leave packed foam to expand. Sit the stairs tight to the sofa on wood, laminate or tile that will not skate.

Practise

Treats on the first tread. No lifting onto the top. Practise coming down as well as going up.

Does it fit my sofa?

This set is built for sofas around 40 cm and dogs around 20 kg or less.

Likely fit

Seat around 38–42 cm. Dachshund, cocker, terrier, spaniel, Frenchie. Hard floors in the living room.

Not this set

Beds much above 40 cm. Labrador or Shepherd. Dogs over about 20 kg.

Cover, foam and floors

Oatmeal check. Grip on the treads. A base meant for wood, laminate or tile — shown, not called “stable” until we film the sample.
