How to measure a sofa for three foam steps

A tape, the seat, and the dog's weight. That is the whole job.

Stand a tape from the floor to the top of the seat cushion, with the cushion sitting as it does in the evening. Write the number in centimetres. Ignore the back and the arms.

What around 40 cm means

This set is built for typical UK sofa seats, not tall beds. If your number is in the mid-thirties to mid-forties, you are in range. If it is a high bed, stop. A three-step foam set will not invent extra height.

Floor space

The stairs need a clear rectangle tight to the sofa. A door that opens onto the landing, or a radiator, is the usual reason a set feels narrow even when the dog is small.

Weight

Around 20 kg or less. A dachshund, cocker, terrier, spaniel or Frenchie is in range. A Labrador or Shepherd is not.
